Thirty volunteers traveled to the Roberto Gilbert Children’s Hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador from September 10-17 to provide complex urologic surgeries on children pro-bono. The talented team, led by Dr. Richard Schlussel, worked tirelessly to dramatically improve the lives of forty children and their families.  “After a two-and-a-half year pause to the Medical Teams Abroad Program due to the pandemic this was an especially uplifting trip,” said Dr. Schlussel. HTCNJ partnered with Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City where faculty and students shot a docuseries of the medical mission.
