Debra Dunn, RN, appointed to President Board of Trustees

Healing the Children New Jersey is pleased to announce the appointment of Debra Dunn, RN, as President of the Board of Trustees. A dedicated volunteer, Board Member, and medical professional, Debby brings a wealth of experience to the role.
“We are thrilled to have Debby step into the role of President of our Board of Trustees,” said Executive Director Tricia McNamara. “Debby’s extensive experience as a volunteer for our organization, combined with her strategic vision for HTCNJ, will be invaluable as we continue to expand our programs. Debby leads by example and has a true passion for our mission and the children we serve.”
Debby joined the Board of Trustees in 2021, serving as Secretary and most recently Vice President. An experienced operating room nurse, Debby began volunteering with HTCNJ in 2009 traveling as a surgical-nurse volunteer on surgical mission trips. Debby has participated in 14 international mission trips to Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Peru with ENT, urology, and ophthalmology teams serving as an operating room nurse and trip administrator. In 2024, HTCNJ awarded Debby the Jhansi Chowdary Nurse of the Year Award. Additionally, Debra serves as HTCNJ’s Director of Surgical Supplies and Equipment, coordinating and packing the surgical instruments, medications, equipment, and supplies needed for each mission trip.
“It’s an honor to step into this role and continue my commitment to help HTCNJ carry out our mission to help underserved children internationally, as well as locally in our New Jersey communities. Having served with our medical teams abroad as an operating room nurse and trip administrator, I have seen firsthand how life-changing a corrective surgery is for a young child and their family. I look forward to leading our dedicated Board of Trustees as we expand our services to support our mission and help children in need globally and in New Jersey.”
